Our Programs Help Local Youth Shine

Bucyrus Little Theatre is dedicated to creating safe, welcoming, and genuinely fun spaces where local youth can be themselves, take risks, make friends, and grow as artists.

For more than seventy years, BLT has existed to enrich Crawford County through live theatre. That mission also includes the unique young performers of North Central Ohio.

The Teen Theater Club and Teen Improv Troupe are built so teens have a consistent place to belong, not just when a show is in rehearsal, but month after month, in a supportive space where creativity is encouraged and no one is left on the sidelines.

These programs work alongside BLT’s summer youth productions (open to ages 8–17) and the many teens who already appear in mainstage shows. Together they form a simple promise: if a young person in Crawford County or the surrounding area wants a safe place to play, create, and be seen, we'd love to welcome them to our theatre family.

Open to all area teenagers ages 13–17.
Meetings: 1–3 p.m. on the third Saturday of every month

This is a “for teens, by teens” gathering. Each month a small committee of members chooses the activity: improv games, karaoke, movement, script writing, or something brand new.

Meetings are free, refreshments are provided, and the emphasis is on trying things together rather than performing for a grade.

Teens socialize, take creative risks in a low-pressure setting, and leave with new friends and a stronger sense of what theatre can be.

A permission form is available on the club page, and you can follow updates on Instagram at @bltteenclub.

Teamwork. Creativity. Confidence. Comedy.

The troupe is a committed ensemble of local teens who train regularly in classic improv games: “yes, and…” collaboration, quick thinking, pantomime, and scene work with no scripts and no props, just imagination and each other.

Coaches focus on an inclusive, supportive environment where students can be weird, be funny, and step out of their shells.

Members perform for the public (including events like the March Mayhem tournament) and appear at community gatherings throughout the year.

Auditions are typically held once a year through guided games; no advance preparation is required.
