About the Show

In Act One, a humble Baker and his Wife journey into the mysterious woods to lift a witch’s curse that prevents them from having a child.
Along the way, they encounter iconic characters: Cinderella fleeing her cruel family, bold Little Red Riding Hood on her way to Grandmother’s house, adventurous Jack climbing his beanstalk, and the isolated Rapunzel in her tower.
Their intertwined quests for happiness spark romance, magic, giants, wolves, and princes, culminating in a triumphant “happily ever after” for all.
But Act Two shatters the fairy-tale illusion. The consequences of their actions ripple outward, bringing chaos, loss, moral dilemmas, and a reckoning with the cost of selfishness and unchecked wishes.
As the survivors grapple with blame, community, and survival in a fractured world, the show explores deeper themes of parenthood, grief, morality, and growing up.
With Sondheim’s intricate, soaring score and razor-sharp lyrics, Into the Woods delights with humor and heart while delivering powerful truths about life beyond “the end.” A timeless favorite for theater lovers, it reminds us that every choice matters—and no one truly is alone.
