Committed To Cultural Enrichment, Education & Entertainment

Founded in 1951, Bucyrus Little Theatre continues to maintain the mission outlined in it's original charter, to provide cultural enrichment, education, and entertainment to Bucyrus and the surrounding communities. Over the years, talented actors, directors, skilled technical professionals, and generous volunteers have come together to produce a wide variety of high quality performances. Thanks to the generous support of our area businesses, patrons, and members; the theater's ability to maintain it's mission has never been stronger.

The Early Years

The Bucyrus Little Theatre staged early productions at the current Bucyrus Elementary School Building, located at 245 Woodlawn Avenue, which at the time served as the Bucyrus High School building.

A move to a former bakery at the corner of Spring and Center streets met the young theater's needs for the next several years until the nonprofit organization purchased and remodeled its current location in 1957 at 130 Songer Street.

Six decades later, Bucyrus Little Theatre continues to bring the performing arts and cultural diversity to Bucyrus and surrounding communities at its newly remodeled facilities, made possible by significant grants from the Timken Foundation, the Community Foundation for Crawford County and other generous supporting organizations and individuals.

The Tradition Continues

Today, Bucyrus Little Theatre maintains its commitment to provide cultural enrichment, education, and entertainment to Bucyrus and the surrounding communities, which is made possible thanks to the ongoing support of businesses, organizations, and individuals in and around Crawford County.

To maintain theatre operations while continuing to present theatrical productions for the education, enjoyment, and literary enlightenment of its members and the general public, the Bucyrus Little Theatre is governed by a volunteer board of directors. These passionate and hard-working individuals are hands-on in their support of the organization. From overseeing the maintenance and repairs of the nonprofit's facilities to raising funds and helping to produce a handful of theatrical productions and events, the Bucyrus Little Theatre's board of directors continues to depend on the financial support and assistance from community volunteers to remain operational.

As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, the Bucyrus Little Theatre is always in need of support, whether it be in the form of sponsorships or willingness to volunteer. If you are interested in supporting the Bucyrus Little Theatre's mission, please consider becoming a member, a volunteer, or making a donation.

Additionally, local business owners are invited to help promote the arts in our local communities by becoming a sponsor. It is your generosity that makes involvement in local theater a reality for so many talented community members.
