Thank you for your interest in our
Capital Campaign and
Expansion Project

The Bucyrus Little Theatre has initiated an ambitious project to improve our theatre for our Patrons, Volunteers and Community. There are three phases described below. PHASE I: The BLT owns the two buildings to the east of the theatre (132 & 142 Songer Avenue). The house next to the theatre is what we call our "costume house". It is over a hundred years old and is desperately in need of replacement for protection of the costumes and the safety of the volunteers who enter it. Dismantling this structure and replacing it with a building designed for costume storage, as well and set building, etc., must be our first priority. Architectural estimate is close to $190,000 for this portion of the project.

PHASE II: Our current restrooms are in a high traffic area and are not large enough to handle intermission crowds. We are going to build an extension off the lobby near the box office.

PHASE III: A new lobby entrance is the final phase of this expansion. It will improve the interior of the theatre and enhance the outside appearance. Most importantly, this will eliminate the step into the theatre and make theatre much more accessible to wheelchair and limited mobility patrons.

How you can help.

1. We are looking for funds. We have received a $50,000 matching grant from the BACF. Members of our Community have started donating and an addition of $36,800 has been raised. Our business leaders have donated over $15,000. And the BLT board of directors has been setting funds aside from the children's workshop, concessions, etc. To date we have over $110,000. We are thankful and proud of what has been accomplished but we need your help. PLEASE CONSIDER A DONATION TO THE THEATRE. We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit and your donation is tax deductible. 2. Krogers will generously donate a portion of your purchases to the BLT. You need to register you "Kroger Plus Card". We have received over $1000 in the past year from supporters who have already done this.

3. Donations made at the concession stand go toward the Capital Campaign. Be generous.

4. We are hoping to start demolition/construction this spring. If you have construction skills and would consider donating your time, we will appreciate your labor.

5. Once we start dismantling the costume house, all the costumes will need a safe, dry temporary home. If you have even a small space we can borrow, please consider calling.
